Your Attitude Will Determine Your Altitude

Who is Bo Blankenship and why does he think he can tell me about cancer?
Well, let's get to it then. I am a five time cancer survivor. I do not say it lightly and I do not say it humorously, but I do say it with a smile. One of my greatest assets has always been my sense of humor. It has gotten me out of more trouble more times than I care to mention. It has gotten me into more trouble than I care to mention as well. It's just a double edge sword but a funny one.

I am from Arkansas. Yes, people are born here; they do not all just come here. I did, however, leave for quite a few years while in the military. I was so fortunate that they saw fit for me to retire at an early age; what nice people! However, before they let me retire they sent me all over the place, exotic places like Hawaii, foreign countries like Korea, and let's not forget a lovely little post known as Fort Dix, New Jersey.

One question I continuously get is, "What caused your cancer, and what type of cancer did you have?" Those seem to be fair questions. My first cancer was bone cancer in 1968, although they did not diagnose it until 1989, and then treated it in 1990.

Then in 1991 I found out that I had lung cancer in the bottom right lobe. To my surprise two months later I had more good news--they found it in my bottom left lobe, too. Thankfully, they felt comfortable removing both of them.

In a short five years they found it again. This time it was four tumors. They were not able to operate, but they did not need to. They gave me chemotherapy that made the tumors go away.

Again in 2009 it would come visit me, but just to say, "Hi, I really miss you." It came again to my lungs and again they would remove more of them, this time my top right. I really hate when someone tells me to do the math I believe I can do so much quicker than man, so to tell you what I mean by that is I now have 2/5 of my lungs left. So I'm going to assume, although my English teacher tells me not to, the New York Marathon is definitely not on my horizon. It saddens me greatly to say that, but it is what it is. In reality I do not know that in my entire lifetime I have ever run more than 6 miles at one time, and that was forced upon me by the military.

The way I do answer people when they ask me how I got my cancer is to tell them everyone has cancer cells. Mine just decided to throw a party in different parts of my body, and apparently I must have one partying body because they continually come back to see me.

So cruise around my website and see what you can find that you like, and then tell me about it. Tell me what you like about my site and ways you would improve it. I know I can always improve. I also know I will not always impress everyone; I'm not here to. One of the things I am here to do is help you. Whether you be a combating cancer warrior or a combating cancer warrior supporter, I am here to help you. I really do not care what others think--I never have and there's a pretty good chance I never will. So if you are looking for someone that will absolutely give you 100% honest and steadfast blessings, look no further. If it were not for God, my support team, and my attitude, neither this website nor my book would ever be in my arising.
